The FDA must stop requiring animal testing

In 2022 you helped get the FDA Modernization Act 2.0 passed into law, eliminating the decades-old requirement for outdated animal testing. While the law did not end animal testing, it allowed drug developers to submit non-animal data for drug approval.

Yet the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has failed to implement the law, meaning countless animals are still being subjected to painful and unnecessary experiments. The FDA Modernization Act 3.0, also known as S.5046, will require the FDA to update its regulations and fully implement the law.

The bill has already passed the Senate last week and urgently needs to be passed in the House.

Ending the archaic practice of testing new drugs on animals will not only spare innocent animals from immense suffering, but also pave the way for safer and better therapeutics through human-relevant means.

It is crucial that we pass the FDA Modernization Act 3.0 into law in 2024. Please contact your representative today!
