Support Lautenberg Act to reduce animal tests!

May 20, 2016

Your immediate action is needed to support pending important legislation that can reduce animal tests.

Congress is set to vote very soon on the Frank L. Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act for the Twenty-first Century.

The Lautenberg Act will reduce reliance on animals for chemical safety testing and if passed, will be the strongest legislation to date to promote a shift to non-animal test methods.

Please call or send an email today to your Congressional representative to VOTE IN FAVOR of the Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act.

 Specifically the Act will:

  • Assure that existing chemical data be used before additional animal testing is requested
  • Require that non-animal  methods be considered before animal testing
  • Require industry to consider non-animal test methods when submitting test data to the Environmental Protection Agency

Please send your letter to Congress today to ask your representative to vote in favor of this bill that will help replace and reduce animal-based chemical tests and increase the use of human-relevant methods.

And if you have an extra moment, please call too. It’s very easy and you simply urge your representative to vote in favor of the bill. You don’t need to say more than that.

The Lautenberg Chemical Safety Act will modernize the way chemical testing is carried out in the U.S. and if enacted, will spare the lives of many thousands of animals currently used for chemical safety testing.

Thank you for taking action for animals today!
